Space for Sound is a community-driven initiative based in North East Scotland, designed to break down barriers to creative expression through music, spoken word, and sound production.
We want to help address the lack of accessible, inclusive creative opportunities for established and emerging artists through the provision of a large welcoming space with different rooms for rehearsal, recording and creation.
Our innovative year-round program will offer free music lessons, hands-on workshops, and collaborative events that foster intergenerational connection and skill development. What makes us unique is our holistic, community-first approach combining access to equipment, mentorship, and performance opportunities to build confidence, creativity, and a stronger local creative economy.
Our vision is to create a network of accessible, inclusive creative spaces across Scotland where anyone, regardless of age or income, can explore music, storytelling, and sound. We’re creatives with a community-first mindset, and we’re ready to build something that lasts.
